Qlix: Theme Sections ("Qlix", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that lets merchants browse, purchase, and install Liquid theme sections, and generate custom sections using AI. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
- Store information. Your shop domain (e.g.
yourstore.myshopify.com) and the OAuth access token Shopify issues when you install the app, used to install sections into your theme and manage your subscription on your behalf. - Purchase and install records. Which sections you've bought or installed, and your AI subscription/credit status — all keyed to your shop domain, not to any individual person.
- AI feature input. If you use the AI Section Creator or Store Optimizer, the text prompt you type and relevant page/section content are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic Claude, and in some configurations OpenAI or Google Gemini) to generate a result. We don't use this content to train any model.
- Install-time IP address. On first install, your store's IP address is sent once to our affiliate-tracking partner (Shoffi) solely to attribute the install to the correct referral source. We don't otherwise log or store IP addresses.
What we don't collect
Qlix does not access, request, or store your customers' personal information — no names, emails, addresses, or order data. The app only interacts with your store's theme and section catalog.
How we use it
Store data is used solely to operate the app: installing sections you request, generating AI content you ask for, tracking what you own, and billing your subscription through Shopify's native billing APIs. We do not sell store or usage data.
Data retention and deletion
When you uninstall Qlix, your session credentials are deleted immediately. Shopify additionally requires app developers to fully erase any remaining shop data within 48 hours of uninstall (the shop/redact webhook), which we honor. Because we never store customer personal data, the customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks Shopify requires of every app have nothing to return or erase.
Third parties
We share data with the following processors, only as needed to provide the app's features:
- Shopify — hosting the app, authentication, and billing.
- Anthropic (Claude), and where configured, OpenAI or Google Gemini — AI section generation and store analysis.
- Shoffi — one-time install attribution for our affiliate program.
Your rights
You can request details of what data we hold for your store, or request its deletion, at any time by contacting us below — uninstalling the app also triggers deletion as described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
